The beaches of the Corn Islands are without question some of the best stretches anywhere on the planet, with the shelter from the winds on the leeward side of each island providing excellent calm water to swim, play, relax and snorkel in, bordered by fine white sand beaches fringed with coconut palm, entry to the shallow water's edge is soft underfoot which makes access for all ages a pleasant experience. The windward side of each island has a greater abundance of tropical coral and marine life which provides a breathtaking vista to behold through your snorkel mask.

Mangrove Swamps
Mangrove swamps pepper Great Corn Island and provide a natural filtration for the rain water which collects in them and then seeps down into the underground aquifers which supplies the potable drinking water on the island. Tours of the swamps are available through the operators below and plans are in place to develop a series of walkways, viewing platforms and signage to describe the flora and fauna you can see.
Created by Rafael Trénor between 1989 and 2016, the Soul of the World is the largest sculpture on the planet. Corn Island was necessary to develop the whole Soul of the World. With only seven other locations across the whole world it represents this global spanning tribute to Mother Earth. The project on Corn Island, completed in 2006, shows one vertex of an immense cube inside the Earth. Each of the other locations complete this dedication to our planet with similar "excavated" vertices.
“The Soul of the World talks about Duality (Sphere and Cube, Earth and Sky, Feminine and Masculine, Yin and Yang). It talks about the unity of the world and the complementarity of its people and geographies. Also talks about diversity, this immense richness of Earth: different vegetations, climates, cultures, landscapes which are represented by the eight places where pyramidal corners of the cube appear. You find in it paradises like Corn Island , but also lost deserts or icy taigas.” R. Trénor
Located at the summit of Mount Pleasant you'll find a 360 degree lookout tower which lifts you up into the clouds to view the island as a whole...all its people, its bustling shops and eateries, its white sand beaches and its peace and serenity, which continues beyond the shores of the island and stretch off across the ocean to meet the sun where it becomes evening sea. Follow the path yourself or have your 25 minute trek guided by one of the tour agencies.
A magnificently constructed, bright, colourful and safe environment for children to play. Dedicated as a tribute to R. Campbell, son of former mayor, X, on his untimely passing in 200X. The space includes a climbing frame with 10 slides of all shapes and sizes, loads of swings and see-saws, a basketball/soccer/volleyball area, cafe, chess/draughts boards, exercise equipment for adults, free wifi and a baseball park.
