Travelling Around Great & Little Corn Islands
On FootThe Little Island has no motorised transportation or roads, with one consequence being you'll find yourself through necessity wistfully strolling around the walking paths and beaches, soaking in the tranquility of this little unspoilt corner of the Caribbean. The island is small in size and it's circumference can be walked in under 3 hours along the beaches that skirt it. Pathways crisscross the center of the isle providing quick connections between all the islands businesses and attractions.
The Big Island has a road which runs round almost the entire island just beyond the high tide mark with a number of other connecting roads providing short cuts and opening access to previously tricky to access parts of the island. To walk around the entire road takes X hours By BusTwo buses operate on the Big Island, taking the opposite direction from the other to circumnavigate the islands ring road. The trip round the entire island takes around 20 minutes and costs 10 cordobs between any 2 stops.
By TaxiLicensed taxis operate on Great Corn Island 24 hours a day and can be hailed at the side of the road by waving. Fares cost 20 Cordobas per stop you want to make, and 30 if travelling from the airport. Luxury taxis are available on request.
